FAMILY HOUSE, CHATTARPUR

The residence was designed as an extension to the existing joint family house for a young couple and their kids. The brief for the new wing consisted of 5 bedrooms, with multiple family spaces having ample natural light, ventilation and a strong sense of connection with nature and environment. Keeping these aspects in mind, through a series of charrettes, 3 design iterations were proposed.

The “Open house” aimed at maximizing the open spaces with a flow of greens through the house. The layout ensured maximum views and interaction with the gardens by creating a transition of open, semi open and closed spaces. There is play with the built form and the landscape which allow the gardens and courtyards to be beautiful and gently experienced. Through the integration with the water body, the house has a series of unique experiences.
